To open the command prompt, enter “cmd” into the Search field in the Start menu. In Windows 8, type “cmd” when on the Start screen.

Once the command prompt it open type: “ipconfig /release”

After the message is displayed, type: “ipconfig /renew”

You will see your new IP address and other connection settings displayed

7)      Change your IP address through the router.

Routers assign every device on the network a private IP address. You can change the IP address of each device by opening the configuration page of your router.

8)   Contact your ISP.

In some rare cases, you may have a static IP address assigned by your internet service provider. In order to get this changed, you will need to contact their technical support directly.
