You must be irritating with telemarketing SMS and call during your daily life through mobile or land line phones. It disturbs your personal/private life. You may be tired or bored by deleting or reading/receiving those telemarketing SMS/calls. So here we have some simple ways to stop spam or unwanted calls from telemarketing companies in India without using any application. Calls blocking guideline is working for both android and IOS users.

1) What is NDNC or DND?

The Indian telecom Industry (TRAI), TRAI has notified “The Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations, 2010”. All the provisions of regulations come into force from 27th September, 2011. As per TRAI regulation, every mobile service provider in India is required to set up a National Do Not Call (NDNC) or Do Not Disturb (DND) registry

2) How it is useful/works?

Any mobile number in India is not by default registered for National Do Not Call (NDNC) or Do Not Disturb (DND). That means any Telemarketer can disturbed you calling or by sending SMS. You have different option for registration. If you want to prevent you from this unwanted telemarketing,

It is very simple, free of charge, instant and both online as well as physical. You have to register with your mobile/land line number on the National Do Not Call (NDNC) or Do Not Disturb (DND) registry, facilitated by your service provider. This

can be done by dial or SMS to 1909(Toll free) and register either of two registry with all difference options.

1 Full blocked category: –

For stoppage of all type commercial call/SMS.
For registering using option SMS, for Full blocked category, write “START 0” and send SMS to 1909.

2 Partially blocked category:

For stoppage of all type commercial call/SMS, except SMS from opted preferences.
For registering using option SMS, for Partially blocked category, write “START ” and send SMS with one or multiple serial number of option from list of seven categories to 1909.

Categories of option,

  • Banking/Insurance/Financial products/Credit cards.
  • Real Estate.
  •  Education.
  • Health
  • Consumer goods and Automobiles.
  • Communication/Broadcasting/Entertainment/IT
  • Tourism

For example: To block messages relating to only health products then send SMS,”START 4” to 1909.Similarly blocking messages relating to Real Estate and Education, send SMS,”START 2,3” to 1909.

On successful registration, customer will receive a SMS confirming exercised option and unique Registration Number within 24 hours. The Registration will be effective within 7 days of placing the request with service provider.

The customer can check the status of their registration by clicking on, “customer Registration Status.

 

This process of activating do not disturb service is all same for Aircel, Airtel, BSNL, Tata DoCoMo, Idea Cellular, Loop Mobile, MTNL, Reliance Communications, MTS India, Tata Indicom, Uninor, Vodafone and etc. and it is available on web service of all service provider.

4) How to check your blocking calls registration?

And if you are already registered, then check your NCPR (old DND) Subscription status here.

5) How to change/deactivate current NDNC or DND?

Your registration for partial blocked category option can be change after 7 days of registration means you can switch from education to real estate option. Further, deactivation DND/unsubscribe of NCPR will be allow telecommuters/Organizations sending teleshopping communication again.

SMS,”STOP” to 19099 or Call to 1909 and follow the IVR guideline.

6) Complain, if you still getting spam calls & SMS.

If costumer still getting UCC (Unsolicited Commercial Communication),even after 7 days of registration, he can make a complaint to his service provider within 3 days of receipt of such UCC, by dialing or sending SMS to 1909. Costumer will have to provide the telephone number or header of the message, from where the call or message has been received, short description of such call or message along with the date of such call or message.

For complaint through SMS, costumer has to send SMS, “Unsolicited Commercial Communication,XXXXXXXXXX,dd/mm/yyto 19099,where XXXXXXXXXX is the telephone number or header of the SMS, from which the UCC has been originated. The telephone number or header and the date of the receipt of Unsolicited Commercial SMS may be opened with such SMS, while forwarding to 19099, with or without space after comma

Service provider will take action on complain and inform the complainant within 7 days of loading complaint. Costumer may check the registration status of his complaint through the link.” UCC Complaint Registration Status.”

Further, all commercial call or SMS, except the Transactional SMSs, will be sent to customer only between 9 am to 9pm.

Important note: The complaint has to be registered from the telephone number on which unsolicited commercial communication has been received. Your complaint must be made within three days of receipt of the unsolicited commercial communication.
